Risk assessment is essential, especially in an Early Years setting. Working with children will always open up new risks, as everything is new to them and they have not yet learned how to keep themselves safe. An assessment may not sound exciting, but it is a fool-proof way to keep staff and anybody else that attends your setting out of harm’s way and allows you to be constantly improving your business.

This course will outline what a risk assessment is, who should do it, and what kind of information needs to be in it, along with how often it should be done and updated.

The learning objectives for this course are as follows:

  1. To understand what is meant by ‘risk assessment’
  2. To learn how to avoid accidents in your setting
  3. To understand the importance of reporting and recording
  4. To learn about the different kinds of risk assessment

This course will ensure your practice is in line with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, The Early Years Framework and The Foundation Phase. It will also support your continuous professional development in line with the Early Years Teachers Standards.

Should you wish to discuss your needs before making a booking, please go via our live chat.

If you are an organisation and you have 5 or more learners who require the above training please consider our face to face options.
