Description & Learning objectives

This course provides an introduction to foetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) for early years practitioners. The course covers the causes, symptoms and long-term consequences of FAS, along with strategies for prevention and intervention.

The learning outcomes for this course are as follows:

  • To understand foetal alcohol syndrome and the risks
  • To recognise the signs and symptoms of FAS
  • To understand the long-term consequences of FAS
  • To develop strategies to prevent FAS and support families
  • To be aware of the legal framework and responsibilities for early years practitioners

This course is CPD accredited and adheres to Ofsted regulations and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
