Treasure Baskets To Explore Development And Play

Level 3&4 Country: England England CPD MINUTES: 150

If you have large groups of learners requiring this training we encourage the use of online training.

Description & Learning objectives

Treasure baskets are an excellent way for children to learn about and explore the wonderful world we live in. Babies learn so much simply by holding, touching, feeling, or just looking at things. Then as they get older, they start to use their imaginations and senses along with the baskets and tell their own stories. This course will allow practitioners to understand the concepts of treasure baskets and heuristic play, and how these can be linked to the early years foundation stage (EYFS). It will look at how staff can create treasure baskets and explore how they can use them in an early years setting. It will also allow staff to understand how treasure baskets can help children develop their own heuristic self-led play.

The learning outcomes for this course are as follows:

  • To understand treasure baskets and heuristic play
  • To be aware of the link between treasure baskets, heuristic play and the EYFS
  • To know how to create a treasure basket
  • To explore working with treasure baskets
  • To understand the progression from treasure baskets to heuristic play

This course is CPD accredited and adheres to Ofsted regulations and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
